OK everyone knows that the black market trade of gold and the indrect issues that it trigger (autoers) is a main concern for Jagex plus a problem they've been fighting for ages having quite limited success. Now my proposal is not really new, but it's slightly modified to decrease the negative outcomes of it's execution, but it centers around the idea that Jagex should sell gold to sabotage the black market gold sector to create it so there's reduced profits for gold sellers reducing their incentive to sell Runescape gold and therefore decreasing their desire to use autoers and cut back the game play for some other players.
I believe if Jagex marketed Runescape gold that they could not just make more money and in turn reinvest it into the game but they would obviously be servicing an increasing percentage of the Runescape community that is ready to purchase gold. Though in selling gold I'd like to consider that Jagex may be able to specify a limit to the amount of gold a single player could buy in any particular month, not to only reduce their own liability but also to market game play as the primary source of revenue, not to mention preventing playing bankrolling characteristics of the game.
