The studio responsible for RuneScape

We're girls from Jagex, the studio responsible for RuneScape and Old School RuneScape, and female content creators that perform those games professionally. Help us ask us anything and celebrate International Women's Day 2020! Since last year, some awesome new women have been welcomed by Jagex into the group, and we hope that along with a number of our content creators that were amazing which we are able to answer any queries you have. What's it like to operate in Runescape games Industry? What are our favourite RuneScape one-liners? Can we have some pets (real or virtual)?

Ask away! We'd really like to provide you a few insights on what working in and with games is similar to - and also what the people behind Runescape games enjoy and perform! If you're a RuneScape/OSRS Runescape player and have some questions about our work and views, we are looking forward to answering, however please note that we won't have the ability to check into single account issues and problems! We love seeing women in Runescape games industry and hope we can encourage more to join us! And why don't you have a look at our careers page and apply if you're considering joining the market?

I studied interpreting and translation and am now working for Jagex as a corporate translator. I didn't get into Runescape game business on goal but I figure that's the great thing about the industry: you can combine through so many different stations and find out about many different aspects of the industry(the majority of the people I encountered are very down to earth and easy to talk to, making it easier to learn if you're eager). There are surely plenty of challenges along the way but I'd say almost all of them are great ones, the kind that would encourage self-development and build your confidence, however I do not think any of those challenges is because of my sex.

I moved the route that was dull and obtained a diploma! I applied everywhere so I just sort of fell into it and Jagex seemed more fun. The main challenge I face is that I have to always prove that I have the job based on my skills and not as a"diversity employ". Not everybody believes that, but some folks like to make jokes and it sinks my confidence a little.

I started playing with Runescape 15 decades ago after finding it amongst the likes of Stick RPG and Motherload on Miniclip. I started streaming OSRS alongside the amount and once I graduated I decided it is either'never or now' took the plunge to go full time. That was 4 years ago and I have not looked back since - however it absolutely has had it's fair share of barriers due to a lot of toxicity and echo chambers at the depths of the net where some believe that women just game"to the wrong reasons". It's been a struggle but one worth the struggle.
