The vast majority of these consumers are American men twenty to fifty years older than the mail order brides. These men spend $3,000 to $10,000 for a bride. Each year, 11,000 to 16,000 marriages occur between foreign brides and American men. The revenue generated by these mail order bride agencies can range from $6,000 to $10k per client. Some mail order agencies claim to serve as many as fifteen thousand clients.
